Pokeyman and the voice



It all started 76 years ago in a land far far away, well in New York city, there lived Jacob Sartorius. He tried hard to sing but he just couldn't, he sounded like a dying illama. BUT, on the other side of the world in a land called China lived Pokeyman who was the world's best singer, well in his mind he was. When Jacob heard about this he was devastated. So Jacob set off on an adventure to get Pokeyman’s voice. Jacob wants to be the very best singer no one ever was. So he’s going to get the voice of Pokeyman. On the way there he fell in a hole.
“Oh no,” he cried.


Pokeyman received a phone call on his pokey phone, he picked it up and this is what happened
“Hello Pokeyman I'm coming after your voice and you'll never get it back,” said the unknown voice. Pokeyman wasn't scared because EVERYONE wants his voice but it never happens.
One year later Jacob had made it to China. Now he has to find the pokey cave. Jacob didn't Know where to start it was like he was lost in the ocean. Jacob saw millions of caved in places but not the pokey cave. But what he didn't know is that the pokey cave is in the city where most people won't think a cave would be. Jacob finally gave up on looking in all the caves in the mountains. So he decided to go to the city and stay the night in a hotel and find some food. He found a Chinese hotel to stay the night in that provided free food.

Early next morning at the crack of dawn Jacob set off to find the pokey cave (again). Meanwhile in the Pokey cave Pokeyman received a phone call from a unknown person he picked up the phone and this is what it said, “I'm here in China Pokeyman and I WILL get your voice”.
Suddenly the phone hung there beeping…. Pokemon thought that it could be true so he diced to lock up his voice.

A few moments later Pokeman heard a huge bang. Pokeyman stepped quietly to the locked door. He saw Zubat hitting the wall over and over again because he was sleep flying. But on the other side of the room Pokeyman saw a little Elf fly in trew the window Pokeyman got the fly swat and banged it POOF the little Elf came flying down and laid there. Pokeyman heard a deep voice that sounded like a moose. He walked step by step to where the sound came from AHAH there was a ugly monster standing in front of Pokeyman. It was Jacob. Pokeyman didn't believe it that Jacob really came for his voice. Jacob walked up to Pokeyman and said “Give me your voice or it will get more horrible”. Pokeyman said no i'm good. Jacob was not happy with that so Jacob pulled out his Elf squad and Pokeyman pulled out his Zubat.
Jacob said, “Elf squad go”
Pokeyman said, “Zubat I choose you”,
The elves and Zubats kept on hitting and fighting each other until Jacob had enough so he started singing and Pokeyman fell to the ground he said, “Get me some bleech”.



Pokeyman woke up after being knocked out, everything was blurry. He glimpsed to his side and saw Jacob trying to get into the heavy armed room that held Pokeyman’s voice. Jacob had a pocket knife and scissors that were hacking at the wall. Pokeyman stood up feet by feet and limped over to Jacob and said stop Jacob there's a better end to this, Jacob looked at Pokeyman and sighed then Jacob continued.



Pokeyman said quietly, “Jacob I'll pay for you to get singing lessons then you can be the best singer in the world, better than than than me”.
Jacob stopped and helped Pokeyman up and walked him over to the couch and sat him down. They talked for hours. All of a sudden Pokeyman said, “Let's go and organise you some singing lessons, NOW”.  

Will Jacob make it to Number 1 on the top music charts?

  • You can represent your school in the community because people will be able to recognise which school you are from
  • You will need more clothes if wearing mufti and this will be more costly. Check Postie Plus, The Warehouse prices.
  • To help people know what their school logo.
  • Is cheaper clothing going to wear as well.
  • Mufti clothes would not last as long perhaps if they are cheap and made from less durable fabric.
  • You need to buy them each year as you grow, this costs our parents a lot of money.
  • It can be more comfortable not wearing a school uniform is running around a lot eg in sports gear.
  • We have a lot of normal clothes and we hardly get to wear them so we shouldn't have uniform.
  • Cheaper to buy mufti clothes
  • You will need School Clothes and mufti clothes (weekend) so will be a greater cost.
  • We have a lot of mufti clothes that I do not get to wear very often-this makes parents angry.
  • School clothes are a big rip off for mass produced clothing - big demand but more expensive.
  • Too hot because of materials they’re made out of - polyester
  

Students Should NOT Wear a School Uniform to School
Introduction: In my opinion Students should NOT wear School Uniform at school.
  1. We have tons of mufti clothes that we don't get to wear
    1. Most Students have normal clothes at home that they don't get to wear because we have to wear uniform 5 day a week for 6 hours.
    2. Uniforms are way too expensive compared to normal clothes here an example. At schooltex (Uniform shop) my total for pants a shirt, hat and a Polar Fleece it came to $109.96 and then I went to The Warehouse and my total for buying pants, shirt, hat and a jacket was $39.09
2. When we go to highschool what are we going to do with our uniform         

  1. When we go to highschool or a different school what will do with our uniform throw it out?  
3. School uniforms are way to uncomfortable
  1. Running around it's way too tight
  2. At some schools they have dress and skirts so when you do the monkey bars or hang upside down your dress will fall down and people will see something they don't want to see
So overall we should not wear uniform because we have tons of normals clothes, what will you do if you go to  a different school what will you do with your uniform and uniforms are WAY too uncomfortable. Thanks for listening


We should NOT wear school uniform to school
Today i will be sharing with you reasons why we should NOT wear school uniform to school.
First of all at home we have a lot of mufti clothes that we don't get to wear because 5 days a week for over 190 to 200 days we have to wear school uniform for 6 hours. That means that we hardly get to wear normal clothes. And did you know that school uniforms are WAY to expensive compared to normal clothes. At school tex (A school uniform shop)  my total for pants a shirt, hat and a Polar Fleece it came to $109.96 and then I went to The Warehouse and my total for buying a pair pants, shirt, hat and a jacket was $39.09 so you can see the price difference.


My second reason is that when we go to a different school or high school what will we do with are uniform. Because you would have spent over $100 or even $500 on a school uniform and it's just a waste of money getting rid of them. So what would YOU do?
My last and final reason is school uniforms are WAY to uncomfortable. The material rubs on your body and is most annoying because the top and pants are way too tight!! At most schools students have to wear dress and skirts and say that you're doing the monkey bars and hang upside down then people will see something they don't want to see!!


So overall we should not wear uniform because we have tons of normals clothes, what will you do if you go to  a different school what will you do with your uniform and uniforms are WAY too uncomfortable. Thanks for listening

Rileys Olympic Zika Virus task

What is the Zika Virus?
The Zika Virus is a mosquito borne that is spread by Aedes species of mosquito that can kill people and put them in very bad condtion. It can also affect unborn babies in that their heads are not properly formed.

How has it affected the Rio games?
Athletes have pulled out of the games because the Zika Virus could affect them and they are worried they'll die.

A solution for athletes and spectators to this problem?

People could find something that the mosquitos like so they would be lured to that spot. Or they could build a border that the mosquitos won't be able to get over. Most of the athletes could wear long tops and pants.

Rabbits are the amazing animals of our planet. Today I will be explaining to you all about their habitat, diet, appearance and protection.

Habitat🏠
Rabbits habitats are usually in meadows, woods, forests, grasslands, deserts and wetlands. Rabbits live in groups like humans in their family groups. Most Rabbits live in burrows (but what most humans call rabbit holes). Rabbits only live in their burrows from 2 to 3 weeks until they move on.

Diet🍲
Rabbits love to eat fresh fruit and vegetables to give them a healthy diet. Rabbits mainly love to eat tons of fresh hay they could eat it for years and years. Other options of what they eat and drink is fresh clean water, grass and food pellets

Appearance👕
Rabbits are covered in a light coat of fur over their whole body.  Their fur can be in tons of different colors like brown, white, black and ginger. Rabbits paws are like soft pillows but in a rubbery texture.  Rabbit’s nails are very, very sharp so they can claw the attacker. Their nails are like a piece of plastic pole.

Protection🛏
Rabbits  protect themselves by kicking and biting the attacker.  Small Rabbits climb up to 3 metres up a tree to hide from the attackers.  Rabbits are a pest to farmers because they eat all the farmers grass and crops. Hunters shoot rabbits because they're pests.

Multiplication fact families

WALT:Knowing the combinations of numbers you instantly know 4 facts.

3x9=27 ⇨ 27÷9=3
9x3=27 ⇨ 27÷3=9  This way is easy for me to learn my multiplication and division because all you have to do is think what something times 9 = 27. Then for the rest of then you take the numbers and fill in where there isn't one of the same number.

Riley's Marine art.



WALT: Describe different habitats in New Zealand and species that live in    them.
Success Criteria:

I have created a New Zealand Marine habitat and included 3 creatures that live there, one endemic, one native and one introduced.

The top half of the Marine waters are full of crests of waves and dead sea weed that surrounds the Marine waters. As you go deeper into the Marine the water gets darker. In the middle of the Marine there's a light blue mixed with purple water. There's normally dead sea weed floating to the top of the marine. At the bottom of the Marine there is a very dark blue water. The plant life that's at the bottom are growing seaweed, coral, plantain, rocks, shells and mould.

The endemic creature I have included is the Pacific Octopus. Its large, orange and has 8 arms. The Octopus is part of the phylum family. An Octopus is invertebrate which means it has no backbone. They eat crab mostly. An Octopus is a very rare creature to find in New Zealand.

The Hector's Dolphin is a large dolphin with a black face and a big white belly. They weigh between 40 and 60 kg. and can be as long as 1.5 metres long. They eat any kind of fish they can find. A Hector's Dolphin belongs to the Oceanic dolphin family.

The Introduced creature I have chosen is the Sea Turtle. A Sea Turtle has millions of little scales covering their whole body with little bead eyes. They have a hard shell back that's a dark green color. They live in Pacific ocean waters. Sea turtles belong to the Cheloniidae family. Sea Turtles eat sea weed that comes from the bottom of the sea. Sea Turtles mainly live till they’re 80 years old.
